3- Perform the following calibrations in this order

  • Step Adjust: Base Step

  • Step Adjust: 6 Pass

  • Head Space: Horizontal Left-Right

  • Head Space: Vertical

  • Color Adjust: Left-Right

  • Bidirectional Adjustment

  • Step Adjust calibration, this calibration controls the amount of film that is advanced while printing. if the step calibrations are off, you will see Dark Banding or Light Banding across the print

  • Dark Banding: The media advance between printing passes is too shirt, and the passes are printing over, This result in darker colors in between the print passes

  • Light Banding: The media advances between printing passes is too long, and there is a gap between the passes. This results in faded or light colors in between the print passes

  • Base Step calibration is the base calibration for the media feeding system. This pattern is two sets of horizontal lines. Select the value/pattern that has both sets of horizontal lines perfectly aligned over the top of each other

4- Navigate to "Adjust" tab, on left side menu click "Step Adjust" under "Base Step" click "Print Adjust" will print calibration test

5- Select the value/pattern that has both sets of horizontal lines perfectly aligned

6- Enter the value into the "Pixel" value, then click the "Calculate" button

7- Click the "Save" button in the top right corner of PrintEXP

8- Reprint this test pattern and confirm the "0" pattern is perfectly aligned. Repeat this test pattern, apply the adjustment value, click "Calculate" and reprint until "0" is perfectly aligned

  • Step Offset: This calibrates the amount of film that is advanced in between print passes. this test pattern is two sets of horizontal lines. Select the value/pattern that has both sets of horizontal lines perfectly aligned over the top of each other

9- Navigate to "Adjust" tab, on left side menu click "Step Adjust" under "Step Offset" select the intended pass count in the drop-down menu, click the "Print Adjust" button for the Step Offset will print calibration test

10- Select the value/pattern that has both sets of the horizontal lines perfectly aligned

11- Enter the value into the "Step Offset" value, then click the "Save" button in the top right corner of PrintEXP

12- Reprint this test pattern and confirm the "0" pattern is perfectly aligned. Repeat this test pattern, apply the adjustment value, click "Save" and reprint until "0" is perfectly aligned

  • Head Space: These calibrations align Print Heads 2,3 & 4 with Print Head 1. These are the primary calibrations that align the color layer and the white

  • Head Space Horizontal Left & Right: These calibrations align Print Head 2,3, & 4 with Print Head 1 in the print scan directions. If your white under base is not aligned in the left or right direction, perform these calibrations. This test pattern is a set of black columns, printed by Print Head 1, and individual column set printed by Heads 2, 3, & 4. Select the value/pattern that had both sets of columns perfectly aligned over top of each other

13- Click the "Print Adjust" button for Head Space-Horizontal-Left, to print the calibration Pattern, there will be a pattern for Print Heads 2, 3, & 4

14- Select the value/pattern that has both sets of columns perfectly aligned

15- Apply the selected value to each Print Head (H2, H3, & H4)

16- Click the "Save" button in the top right corner of PrintEXP

17- Reprint the same calibration, confirm the "0" value/pattern is perfectly aligned

18- Repeat the above steps until the "0" value/pattern of Print Head H2, H3 & H4 are perfectly aligned

19- Now click the "Print Adjust" button for Head Space-Horizontal-Right, to print the calibration pattern. Repeat the above steps until the "0" value/pattern is perfectly aligned

  • Head Space Vertical: These calibrations align Print Head 2, 3, & 4 with Print Head 1 in the media feed directions. If your white under base is not aligned in the up or down direction, perform this calibration. This test pattern is brackets with horizontal lines, printed by Head 1, and individual sets of horizontal lines printed by Print Heads 2, 3, & 4. Select the value/ pattern that has the horizontal lines aligned with the horizontal lines of the brackets pattern

20- Click the "Print Adjust" button to print the calibration pattern, there will be a pattern for Print Head H2, H3, & H4

21- Select the value/pattern that has the horizontal lines aligned with the horizontal lines of the bracket pattern

22- Apply the selected values to each Print Head (H2, H3, &H4)

23- Click the save button in the top right corner of PrintEXP

24- Reprint the same calibration, confirm the "0" value/pattern is perfectly aligned

25- Repeat the above steps until the "0" value/pattern of Print Head H2, H3, & H4 are perfectly aligned

  • Color Adjust: This calibration will align the individual color channels of each Print Head in the print scan direction. If the individual colors are not aligned to the rest of the print, perform these calibrations. This test pattern is a set of columns printed by the reference channel, and individual columns set printed by each of the seven channels on the Print Head. Select the value/pattern that has both sets of columns perfectly aligned over top of each other
